occasionally yea, mostly nay.

I personally think Jerry got a little too carried away with the MIDI usage. It was cool once in a while, but he relied on it too much sometimes. I liked Jerry as a guitar player, not so much as a trumpet / flute / whatever player.

jmb1 - exactly! Garcia played with a trumpet player's phrasing, not just sound. Unsurprisingly Lesh did too.
There's an Iko Iko (can't remember which) where they sound just like a New Orleans band.
